Cedar Hill ISD is excited to provide our students the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills through the various academic student fairs held this spring. Each fair fosters a clear purpose and process in which students are to compete while allowing the students to display their creativity. The Digital Fair provides the students the opportunity to create digital media products or work with robots. Students participating in the fair learn to think imaginatively, communicate and express themselves creatively, become excited about learning, and demonstrate their technology literacy skills.
An individual student or teams of up to 5 students may submit a project from one of the following product categories (click on a category title for more information):
Each category (except Robotics) contains five grade levels: K-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12 (Collegiate High School students will compete with their respective grade level unless a team is made up of both 9th and 10th graders, in which case the team will automatically compete at the 10-12 level). Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd places in each project category and grade level division. All entries must be student-produced. However, guidance and instruction may be given by sponsoring adults. Younger students may need more guidance and technical assistance. Sponsors, parents, or other interested parties older than the student's grade level should not develop and/or produce the entry. All entries must be computer generated and should have a clear purpose. Entries must have been produced during the 2012-2013 school year and be sponsored by a current CHISD teacher.
Each entry must be submitted to the Digital Fair Campus Representative on each campus by February 8, 2013. If more than the permitted number of entries is submitted, a campus committee must select from these entries for district submission. A campus-level competition is not required.
