Free/Reduced Meal Applications

Dear Parent/Guardian,

You no longer need to fill out the paper application, instead you may fill out the application online from any computer with internet access. Please select the appropriate link below:

The Online Free & Reduced Application for the 2014-15 school year is now available.

The processing of online applications will begin within 48 hours of you filling it out.  If you don't have access to the internet, you are welcome to come to the Child Nutrition office and use one of our computer stations to apply online.  We will be available to assist you Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.  Our office is located at 914 Cedar Street, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104.

We will qualify students for free and reduced meal pricing using the Direct Certification process.  If you receive a letter from CHISD Child Nutrition, please read it carefully.  If all of the children in your household are not listed on it, you will need to fill out a paper application and list all of the children in your household.  The 30-day grace period will end on October 6th, if you have not received a confirmation letter from us by October 6th you will need to send your child to school with money until your application has been processed.  The 30-day grace period only applies to students that were approved and enrolled in CHISD on the last day of the preceding school year.  It is best to go online fill the application out as soon as possible in order not to delay application approval.

*Alternate meals are offered to students that do not have the money to pay for a regular meal.  The alternate meal consists of a jelly sandwich, vegetable, fruit and a choice of milk.

We are pleased to announce the continuation of Free Breakfast in the Classroom at the following campuses:

Plummer Elementary, Highlands Elementary, High Pointe Elementary, Lake Ridge and Joe Wilson Intermediate.  So be sure that your child is at school in time for breakfast.

Allergy Notes: Please notify Child Nutrition of your child's food allergies as soon as possible through a written note from your physician.

The schools do offer extra items for purchase.  If you would prefer your student not to purchase items other than the meal, you may utilize the "Meal Account" in the MyPaymentsPlus website or contact your kitchen manager directly. 

CHISD Child Nutrition meal pricing: *Students must choose at least 1 fruit or 1 vegetable with their entree to make a meal.

Student Breakfast: Free

Student Lunch: $2.60

Adult/Non-Student Lunch: $3.50      Single Entree Price: $2.25    

CHISD Methods of payment:  http://www.mealpayplus.com/ - This website allows you to manage your child's account without leaving home.  You can view the transactions that have taken place on your child's account.  You can also prepay for meals with a major credit or debit card.  In addition, you can customize your own email reminders so that you will be alerted when the balance falls below your specified amount.  You do not have to pay online in order to use this website.  Cash/Check - You can prepay for your child's lunch in person at any cafeteria.
